Winner Offers Unprecedented Discounts On The Occasion Of Ukraine’s Joining The WTO

2008-05-19

Winner Imports Ukraine, Ltd., the official importer of Ford, Jaguar, Land Rover, Volvo and Porsche, is giving unprecedented discounts on all car models which are sold through the company's dealer network. From now on, 10% discount will apply to any Ford, Jaguar, Land Rover, Volvo and Porsche car from a warehouse in Ukraine.

The company management’s decision has been influenced by the important event for the entire nation – Ukraine’s joining the WTO and the resulting reduction of import duty rate to 10%. According to the management’s opinion voiced at a dedicated briefing on May 19, 2008 by WIU’s General Director Bohdan Kulchyckyj, such changes will speed up the company’s growth. Mr. Kulchyckyj named the following reasons why Winner will benefit from further events:

  1. In the competition against the company's direct competitors everything will depend on Winner's employees who are an excellent example of a committed team of professionals.
  2. Import duty is an indirect tax paid by a company to the state. Reduction in these payments will affect negatively those businesses which use ‘shadow’ schemes in order to pay less to the state. Winner has never been one of those companies – the company takes pride in paying all taxes and does its business as transparently as possible.
  3. Custom duties form a part of the price the end customer pays for the car. Thus, reduction of this part will allow us to lower our prices. This means that the difference between the price of the cars offered by Winner and the prices offered by grey dealers will be smaller. Besides it’s grey dealers who use dubious means of ‘saving’ money at the expense of payments to the state, so it's grey dealers who will lose a significant share of profits. As a result, we may hope that the share of the grey market will become smaller.
  4. Winner will hold a large-scale campaign by announcing the lowered prices on cars imported before the reduction of import duty rate. The company's representatives think that their main mission is to crate the most favourable conditions for future and existing customers in order to really save money of these customers.

Mr. Kulchyckyj said, “As you know, Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is now considering the draft law no. 2351 which was approved only in its first reading. The draft law suggests that the rate of duty on passenger cars should be raised again to 25%. If this draft law is approved and comes into effect, and, consequently, if the Customs Office is governed by it, our company will have to revise our pricing policy. So Ukrainians, here and now, for the time being are presented with a unique opportunity to save significant amounts of money when buying a car thanks to the well-timed offer from Winner.”
